The Sacrifice update is live for everyone playing Warframe on PC, and it’s a big one.
Months of waiting have paid off. Today Warframe has released Update 23, The Sacrifice. And as usual with Warframe’s big updates, it adds a bunch of new features to the game.
Let’s have a list of the big ones, to make it clearer.
- The Sacrifice cinematic quest—following two previous quests, The Second Dream and The War Within, and a direct follow-up to December’s teaser called Apostasy Prologue. What twists and secrets are revealed this time? Play and find out
- Excalibur Umra—a long-awaited variant of the melee-focused Excalibur warframe is finally here, tied closely to the events of The Sacrifice quest
- New Umbra-themed cosmetic items for your Warframe, companion, and [spoiler]
- Exalted weapons now open for modding—from Excalibur’s Exalted Blade to Mesa’s Regulators, now you can mod them independently from your regular weapons
- UI updates—the beginning of an ongoing process, but a bunch of screens received a visual update, complete with several themes you can choose. It’s like WinAmp days all over again! There are also B&W and high-contrast themes for people with visual impairment
It certainly looks prettier now. // Source: warframe.forums.com
There’s also a bunch of smaller-scale changes, like changing Limbo’s Stasis ability, new offerings in Cetus, and tons of other juicy stuff you can read all about in the official patch notes.
Warframe has been on a roll for a while now, and since the launch of the Plains of Eidolon (a somewhat mixed bag of features) it has enjoyed more of the media attention it well deserves. What’s next? Probably that Venus open-world zone, but first you get to get some sleep, Digital Extremes. Well done.
PS: Fashionframe is the endgame.
