Vampire Survivors is a bullet heaven game which is an obvious loving (and humorous) tribute to Konami’s classic fantasy series Castlevania, but so far the only cooperation with Konami was a Contra DLC. On Halloween this changes.
Launching on October 31st is the Ode to Castlevania DLC, bringing more than 20 new playable characters, a few dozen new weapons, a whole bunch of music tracks (including Bloodlines), and a whole new stage.
What it doesn’t bring, however, are vampires, because not even this thematically perfect collaboration can force developer Poncle to ruin the running joke.

Vampire Survivors isn’t the first game to get a Castlevania DLC. Dead Cells and V-Rising beat it to the punch, but there is something special about getting an official cross-over with a series that’s a direct and obvious inspiration for it.
Either way, the DLC arrives on October 31st, which makes it a great option for a Halloween evening if your other plans fall through.
