And there are more in production, as confirmed by the game’s director.

While Overwatch has received some new characters in the last months, it’s rare for the game to get a totally new map designed for competitive play. But that’s about to change. As confirmed by Game Director Jeff Kaplan, various maps are in active development.

As we read on the Overwatch’s forum, three maps are now in development, “all past the initial playtesting phase that are “standard” maps (QP/Comp).” As always, something might change, but Blizzard plans to release all three this year.

Three more “non-standard maps” are in production and other approaches are also experimented with, but there are no details what forms they will take. Some of them might be a part of future PvE events like the currently ongoing Uprising.
