Players will finally be able to enjoy the Battle Royale experience.

Chinese investment company Tencent has entered into a partnership with Bluehole to release PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in China.

The game is available in the country but as an unlicensed title on Steam. Chinese players make up almost half of the game’s population.

For the title to be officially released it must have the approval of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television (SAPPRFT) and now that an agreement has been reached that process was set in motion.

Whether the game will stay on Steam or go onto Tencent’s own platform is unclear at the moment. So is the model the game is going to officially adopt in China – remaining as a paid product or going free-to-play.
