If you’ve been waiting to walk without rhythm across the digital sands of Dune, Arrakis, the desert planet in Funcom’s upcoming survival game, we’re sorry to inform you it won’t make the planned May launch.
Thankfully, the delay isn’t a massive one. The launch is shifted from May 20th to June 10th, or June 5th if you went for an edition with built-in advanced access. In the grand scheme of things, three weeks isn’t that bad, some games get postponed so much they disappear from the horizon, but it’s still a bit frustrating.
The delay was announced in a Steam post and point to the feedback received thanks to a closed beta and the game’s Discord channel as the reasons for the delay, as Funcom devs chose to give Dune Awakening “a bit more time to cook”.
There is a silver lining to this, however, as the very same announcement also promises a large beta weekend in May ahead of release. Hopefully the feedback from it won’t cause another delay for the sandy, social survival.
