Unexpectedly, a decade after the first game, news broke about the in-production sequel to Alien: Isolation.
The reveal came from Alistair Hope himself, the game director of the original game, shared during the 10th anniversary celebrations. It’s as good a source as one could hope for.
As a reminder, Alien: Isolation was Creative Assembly’s interesting break from the Total War series, and an experiment with the first-person survival horror. The result was one of the best games in the genre and one of the best games to come out of the Alien franchise.
The story followed Amanda Ripley, the daughter of, at the time MIA, Ellen Ripley known from however many Alien movies you consider canon. Amanda’s search for her mom brought her to the Sevastopol space station, which has a lot of dangerous problems going on at the same time, including an utterly terrifying Xenomorph on the loose.
At this stage it is unknown what direction the sequel will take, as it’s reported to be rather early in its development, but when more news break, we’ll be sure to bring them to you.
