Scalebound officially cancelled by Microsoft

One of the upcoming Xbox One exclusives is no longer part of Microsoft’s line-up.

We are never happy when announcing a ceased project. Unfortunately, it was already confirmed by Microsoft’s representatives: Scalebound is officially cancelled. The game is now being removed from the marketing campaign for Xbox One.

I was able to see Scalebound’s promos during gamescom 2015, but the game was present in Cologne last year as well. Now, after four years of development, Platinum Games ended their cooperation with Xbox’s team.

“After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for Scalebound,” we read in the official press release. At this moment it is unclear if the license allows developers to continue their work and release the game with a different publisher.

Scalebound is another cancelled title from a list of Xbox expected exclusives that included Phantom Dust and Fable Legends.
