The Creative Assembly people have just announced with a blog post that there is yet another race coming to the diverse roster of Total War: Warhammer before the second installment hits the shelves later this year.

I can’t say that I’m not surprised that the superb Total War: Warhammer is getting another faction expansion, what with the company focused on the release of the second part of its Total War and Games Workshop mash-up. I am surprised.

The original game included the Empire, Dwarfs, Greenskins, Vampire Counts and Chaos. The roster was then expanded with Bretonnia, Wood Elves and Beastmen. The second game was supposed to star High Elves, Dark Elves, the Lizardmen and as yet unannounced race that will surely turn out to be the Skaven.

With the DLC a free update will be released for the game as well, probably to prepare the original Total War: Warhammer for the unholy connection with Total War: Warhammer 2 to combine one, huge map that fantasy fans can drool upon for ages.

The second game is set to release before the end of the year.
