If you remember last year’s The Martian, a science-fiction movie starring Matt Damon determined to survive being stranded on Mars, you can make the same trip, only at a fraction of the cost. Fox VR Experiences announced The Martian VR Experience, which will soon be available for $20 on Steam, Playstation Store, and Oculus. To quote the officlal website, the players will be able to “[f]ly onto the surface of Mars, steer at zero gravity through space, drive a rover and experience key scenes from the hit film in a 360-degree virtual reality environment”. The players will take on the role of Watney, Damon’s character, and perform action crucial to survival in an immersive, if bleak, Mars environment.
