It’s going to be in development for at least a year.

Crytek hasn’t published any release dates on its multiplayer survival shooter Hunt: Showdown but decided instead to publish the game through Steam’s Early Access.

Creative director Magnus Larbrant told IGN:

“You want to create an experience that goes from the game to the player. These guys are really into your world and they’re having fun, right? And that’s what I want, too. I think Early Access for our game is the best thing that could ever happen.”

During that process the studio promises to do the usual – deliver new content in the form of maps, monsters, weapons, etc. as well as fix bugs and tweak gameplay.

Hunt: Showdown should appear on Steam “soon”.
