Hearthstone will receive three expansions this year

It’s the Year of Mammoth and there are some grand changes coming.

With Standard and Wild game formats introduced in Hearthstone last year, additional changes are coming to the game in 2017. Let’s start with the video introduction:

Basically, the Standard game format aims to be accessible for newcomers and stay fresh for people playing for a long time. Cards from Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament, and League of Explorers expansions will be exclusive for the Wild game format when the first expansion of 2017 will become available.

Three expansions, each with around 130 cards, are planned for this year – one really soon, one in the middle of the year, and one in Fall of 2017. “That concept is something we would like to do more of in future sets: Take the storytelling and cool missions of Adventures, and combine them with the card pools of expansions.,” we read in the official blog post, where you’ll find additional information about the upcoming changes.
