Hate to be the harbinger of bad news, but this needs to be said.
While I’m very happy that all of ya’ll are hyped for Cybperunk 2077, it’s gonna be a looong while before we actually get it. Adam Kiciński of CD Project Red, recently spoke to a Polish finances site (because the native games journalism of Poland isn’t in the best place right now) and adamantly stated that the build shown at E3 isn’t close to reflecting the final product.
Given that, the 2020 release window is much more likely, and can I just say, Cyberpunk 2077, a game inspired by a tabletop RPG called Cyberpunk 2020, releasing IN 2020? Absolutely fantastic, yes please, I will wait an extra year just so I can have this moment of transcendence.
In the meantime, to keep you interested, CD Project Red is releasing a series dissecting the trailer frame by frame on their site, explaining what each of these moments says about the setting and the final game. This could be construed as self-aggrandizing wankery, but it’s at least something to distract us from the fact that the game isn’t coming out for another 2 years.
