If you’ve been dying to know when you’ll be able to get back to reconnecting stranded remnants of humanity, you can put the date in your calendar now.
Death Stranding 2 now has a scheduled launch, but you’d need to watch nine minutes of trailer to see it if you relied only on trailers.
First things first: Death Stranding 2’s release date is June 26th, 2025. There, the essential piece of info is shared.
Now you can watch the trailer in peace, and you should, not just because it’s just a feast for the eyes, but also because it shows a few new appearances from actors and directors. It wouldn’t be a Hideo Kojima game it the love for cinema wasn’t apparent. We’ll let you learn about the cast from the video itself, but Norman Reedus absolutely makes a return as Norman Porter Bridges.
Aside from big name announcements, the trailer is also a great show of the amazing weirdness that’s always been present in Kojima-brand games. With Death Stranding 2 it seems like all limiters were removed and we’re getting the best seats to an incredible science fiction story full of memorable imagery and with a strong emotional core provided by beautifully acted and rendered characters with deceptively bizarre names.
True cinema, one might say.
