Dead in Vinland, a survival/RPG game developed by CCCP and published by Playidius, will be releasing on Steam today.

The Steam’s page description reads:

DEAD IN VINLAND is a survival/management game, mixed with RPG and adventure elements, about a Viking family trying their best to survive on a mysterious island.

The game definitely looks promising, with a mixture of hardcore resource management, challenging turn-based combat, engaging story and quite beautiful art-style. The soundtrack, from what we can tell by the trailers, is nothing to write home about either.

Personally the promise of 7 distinct romance plot-lines is enough to get me interested, as this may very well scratch that “Viking Dating Sim” itch I’ve never managed to get rid off. Although I might be in the minority, the game first and foremost promises to be challenging, making the players juggle between the needs of their Viking community and forcing them to make wise, tactical decisions. But me personally? I just like Vikings.
