Heeey, have you heard about that small underground studio called CD Projekt Red?
They launched a niche, little-known video game franchise called The Witcher, based on the books of polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. Reportedly the third entry was even halfway decent!
Ok, enough of that tired joke. CDPR finally caved in under the demand from their eventual audience and decided to release the lengthy (nearly 50 minutes long) gameplay for Cyberpunk 2077, reportedly roughly the same they’ve shown behind closed doors during E3. Take a peek. Occasionally NSFW.
All reservations apply: it’s an early stage of development, things are going to change between here and then, remember the overblown drama surrounding The Witcher 3 graphical downgrade et cetera, et cetera. That said, having skimmed it it does look kind of cool, which is not surprising, since the original tabletop RPG’s creator Mike Pondsmith is involved.
The release date isn’t provided, but that’s to be expected.
What are your thoughts about the reveal? Is it everything you’ve ever hoped for, or does it disappoint you in some way?
