There’s no timing, but such a confirmation is enough for now.
Assassin’s Creed IP went into a hiatus period after the release of Syndicate. Of course, there was the movie and some remakes, but we know that something has changed when a new game wasn’t released. It’s part of Ubisoft’s efforts to re-energize the series.
We expect a new game codenamed Assassin’s Creed: Empire to release this year (or early in 2018) and it was now confirmed that a TV series is being produced. Last year Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that the company is in talks with Netflix and now we might know which IP (or one of a few) will be used.
It was confirmed during Reddit AMA by Aymar Azaizia, Assassin’s Creed’s Head of Content (as reported by Neowin):
It’s like the movie guys, we will take our time, to get sure we deliver something we can be proud of, but if you wander [sic] if it’s on our plan… YES.
No further details were shared until, but expect full reveals in the months to come.
