Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest instalment in the legendary Japanese RPG series Monster Hunter, which first debuted in 2003. Since the very beginning, the game’s development and publishing have been handled by the iconic Capcom studio.
The series has seen over a dozen releases, including six main titles — Monster Hunter Wilds is the sixth main entry and the thirteenth game in the series overall.
The game was officially released on February 28, 2025, but eager players had the chance to test their skills in the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta weeks before launch. Many of them managed to create quite solid characters already — so it would be a shame to say goodbye to them, right?
Would it be possible to transfer a Beta Character to the full game? If so, how can you do it? Here’s our short guide in which we assist you in this process!
Can I Transfer My Beta Character to the Full Game?
We won’t keep you in suspense… The short answer is: yes! You can import the character you created during one of the Beta sessions into the full game! However, be aware that this process is not automatic — you’ll need to do it manually, but don’t worry, it’s quite simple!
How to Import Your Beta Character in Monster Hunter Wilds?
At the very beginning of the game, you naturally create your character, who will accompany you throughout your adventure. If you want to use the character you made during Beta Testing, you’ll need to import it.
At the end of the character customization menu, just after Underclothes and Starting Armor, you will find an option called Beta Test Data. Simply click on it and confirm by pressing “Yes” when the pop-up window appears, asking: “Retrieve Beta Test character data?”
However, keep in mind:
- Once you import your Beta character, all customizations made on your newly created character will be lost.
- We recommend saving your game before importing. If you decide you don’t like your Beta character any more, you can always reload your previous save.
- The same process applies to importing your Palico — both your hunter and Palico need to be imported separately.
What If the Option Doesn’t Work?
There could be a few reasons why you can’t import your Beta character:
- You might be playing on a different platform or account than you used during the Beta.
- You aren’t connected to the internet or the game servers are down.
- You didn’t finish creating or saving your character during the Beta.
- You streamed the Beta without saving your data locally. In this case, importing won’t be possible.
With this guide, you should be able to successfully retrieve your Beta character and continue your Monster Hunter Wilds adventure right where you left off! Happy hunting!
