Lethal Company is a co-op game about being disposable corporate employees sent to retrieve valuable resources left behind in off-world facilities.
Of course, the places you’re going to visit aren’t going to be entirely safe, or even uninhabited, so the fact that you have help is essential. But what about… having more help?
The default
If you want to jump into action right away, you will be limited to a 4-player party.
It can be enough to complete the tasks, survive, and engage in shenanigans, but it’s obviously not ideal if you have more than three people interested in playing.
What can you do in such a case?
Push it to the limit
If you want to have more than 4 people in your party, you need to resort to modding.
But don’t worry! It’s not too complicated, and once you’re done, you’ll be able to have even 20 people in a single session, which is objectively too many, and, as a result, the ideal number to have a delightfully chaotic experience, perfect for a community gaming night.
So, what do you do?
- Go to the BepInExPack page on Thunderstore, and download it (
- By default, it’s at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Lethal Company
- You can check by right-clicking Lethal Company in your Steam library and selecting “Browse local files”
- Enter the BepInEx folder and create a new folder called Plugins
- Go to the LC-API page on Thunderstore ( https://thunderstore.io/c/lethal-company/p/DrFeederino/LC_API_V50/)
- download the utility, and once you have it, double-click to activate the installation
- Install it into the Plugins folder
- Go to the BiggerLobby mod page on ModDB (https://www.moddb.com/mods/biggerlobby/downloads/biggerlobbyv106) and download it to a convenient location.
- Extract the folder into the installation folder of Lethal Company.
- Consent to file replacement
If everything went well, after completing that process you will be able to create a server for up to 20 players. Have fun!
Is it safe?
This method has been used by tens of thousands of people. The biggest risk you’re running will be the possible strain on your PC, as the game wasn’t designed to easily handle such a large player count.
