Do you know Chivalry? A cooperative action game set in medieval times? Today, we’re opening the Gate to Adventure in medieval times on G2A.com for you!
Chivalry has seen two installments so far – the first was released in 2012, while its successor came out in 2021. Chivalry: Medieval Warfare attracted a whole host of players dreaming of engaging in battles with bows and swords (in first-person perspective) and conquering enemy castles.
Chivalry II, on the other hand, allowed players to engage in much larger skirmishes (up to 64 players) and featured significantly better and more realistic graphics than its predecessor. Both installments were developed by the Canadian Torn Banner Studios and can be found on Steam, as well as on PS and Xbox consoles.
The Chivalry series is a great title for anyone who enjoys cooperative gameplay and has always wanted to immerse themselves in the harsh times of the Middle Ages, where disputes were settled with swords and axes. So, if you’re one of those people and Chivalry is one of your favourite games, you’re definitely looking for other similar titles!
In today’s article, we’ll present you with games like Chivalry, where you’ll have the opportunity to engage in interesting battles, chop your enemies with swords, and admire medieval and fantastic landscapes!

Elderborn
Release date: | 2020-01-30 |
Genre: | Indie |
Developer: | Hyperstrange |
This game is a combination of a slasher and action game with RPG elements. Unlike the previously discussed Chivalry, this title is a single-player game, but it provides a similar dose of excitement.
The game is set in a medieval-fantasy world. We play as a warrior proficient in melee combat, whose task is to defeat hordes of enemies – both other humans such as knights or bandits, as well as undead or monsters.
The most interesting aspect of Elderborn is its gameplay mechanics. We observe the world from a first-person perspective, have a rich arsenal of weapons, and during combat, we must not only dodge attacks but also block them, as well as observe the strategies and find the weak points of our opponents.

Hellish Quart
Release date: | 2021-02-16 |
Genre: | Indie |
Developer: | Kubold |
Hellish Quart is a game that transports us to the 17th-century Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, where we embody, among others, Sarmatians and Cossacks and engage in duels using ancient, realistic weapons such as sabers and rapiers.
The game carefully reproduces the old Polish realities and landscapes and emphasizes faithful reproduction of real sword fights. We follow the stories of Jacek Dydyński and Samuel Zborowski, noblemen known from the novels of the Polish historical fantasy writer Jacek Komuda.
This title allows us to play solo or compete with a friend on a single screen or via the internet. The full version of the game is scheduled for release in 2024.

Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2
Release date: | 2022-05-12 |
Genre: | Strategy |
Developer: | Brilliant Game Studios |
Another game that can be found on Steam and which has already received positive reviews during its early access period. Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2 is a sequel to UEBS from 2017, allowing players to play huge, epic battles in fantasy-medieval settings.
We can participate in battles with hundreds, thousands, or even millions of warriors, as well as create our own fun and often absurd scenarios. We can observe battles between medieval knights and Roman legionaries, but also between dinosaurs, fantasy creatures, and even… armed animals.
Although the game deviates somewhat from what Chivalry presents, it also offers exciting battles and a lot of entertainment.

Dark Messiah Of Might And Magic
Release date: | 2006-10-25 |
Genre: | Fighting |
Developer: | Arkane Studios |
This is another game that combines RPG and action, set in the universe of Might and Magic (medieval fantasy). In the game, we play as a young hero – Sareth – who has trained under the tutelage of a powerful mage for years to defeat the Dark Messiah, who rules over the land of Ashan.
Although the game is a bit old, it still looks quite good and still enjoys fairly high ratings. Like in Chivalry, here we also have the chance to play as a warrior and fight in FPP with swords (and using other melee weapons) against enemies. Additionally, the gameplay has been enriched with spells and classic RPG mechanics (experience gathering, unlocking weapons, etc.)
The game also includes a multiplayer mode for up to 32 players, which has been divided into several types of gameplay, including classic Deathmatch, where we compete against enemies on the battlefield.

For Honor
Release date: | 2017-02-13 |
Genre: | Action & Shooter |
Developer: | Blue Byte |
This is another title that, although it has a single-player mode, focuses on multiplayer online gameplay. This title is set in quasi-historical realities, combining those known from early medieval Europe with feudal Japan.
In the game, we can choose from three factions – The Chosen (resembling samurais), The Legions (knights), and The Warborn (resembling Vikings). The gameplay revolves around the factions fighting each other. It offers various game modes, including 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, and a domination mode.
The battles take place in 12-player teams, but players only control 4 characters from the entire group, while the rest of the warriors are controlled by quite decent AI. The game requires not only skilful combat but also strategic-tactical planning of attacks.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Release date: | 2018-02-13 |
Genre: | Adventure |
Developer: | Warhorse Studios |
Although this game focuses on single-player gameplay, it is the closest to Chivalry of all the titles mentioned above. The game is set in the historical realities of the Hussite Wars that shook Central Europe in the 15th century.
In the game, we play as the son of a blacksmith, a young man named Henry, who, to avenge the destruction of his village and the killing of his loved ones, decides to seek justice. During his quest for revenge, Henry becomes entangled in intrigues and takes part in many (historical) battles.
The game offers a first-person perspective, interesting, elaborate combat using realistically depicted weapons, and allows players to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of brutal medieval times (although the landscapes are quite pleasant to the eye…).

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord
Release date: | 2020-03-31 |
Genre: | RPG |
Developer: | Taleworlds |
The second installment of the Mount & Blade series – sandbox games that smoothly combine RPG, action, and strategy elements, transporting us to quasi-historical realities and the land called Calradia.
The game’s story revolves around events set about 200 years before those known from the first part. The ruler of the land has died, leaving no heir, which has led to chaos in the kingdom. Our protagonist decides to take matters into his own hands, restore order to the land, and restore its former glory as the leader of one of several available or new factions.
We move around the map in strategic mode, and all interactions and battles are played out in real-time, in third-person mode. Here too, as in many games mentioned earlier, we have the opportunity to conduct spectacular battles using historical melee weapons.
