In a few days, Dragon’s Dogma II – the second instalment of the epic action RPG straight from Capcom’s stable – will have its premiere.

The first game received very positive reviews from both players and critics, raising high expectations for its sequel.

Unlike many other titles, the game has been released in only two editions – Standard and Deluxe Edition, which are available in both digital and physical formats. However, there isn’t a Collector’s Edition with additional gadgets. Want to know what both editions offer, and what awaits you with each purchase? Let’s dive in!

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Standard Edition: What’s Included

  • Superior Weapons Quartet (Pre-order bonus – expired)

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition

  • Everything in Standard Edition
  • A Boon for Adventurers – New Journey Pack (includes Harpysnare Smoke Beacons, Heartfelt Pendant, Ambivalent Rift Incense, Makeshift Gaol Key, Art of Metamorphosis, Wakestone, Explorer’s Camping Kit, and 1500 Rift Crystals)
  • Dragon’s Dogma Music & Sounds Collection
  • Exclusive Ring of Assurance (Pre-order bonus – expired)

Standard Edition

Dragon’s Dogma 2 transports us to a vast open-world fantasy setting, ruled by magic, melee weapons, and fantastic creatures like dragons. One of them has stolen the heart of the character we embody, and now our task is to find the mystical beast and defeat it. However, before we accomplish that, a series of intriguing quests and captivating adventures await us.

The gameplay is presented from a third-person perspective, and the world presented literally takes the breath away. The game offers detailed, polished graphics created on the RE Engine (known from titles like Resident Evil: Village), making the visited locations look exceptionally realistic.

In this title, we have the opportunity to create and personalize our character and embark on quests in the order, style, and pace that suits us best.

The Standard Edition of the game, like many other titles, includes only the basic version of the game, available in digital or disc form. However, as the pre-order for Dragon’s Dogma II is still ongoing, purchasing the game before its release will get you an interesting bonus!

That bonus is the ‘Superior Weapons Quartet’ – a set of 4 special weapons tailored to different classes: sword and shield for Fighters, dagger set for Thieves, magic staff for Mages, and bow for Archers.

Deluxe Edition

If the game alone isn’t enough for you, Capcom has prepared the Deluxe Edition, which comes with several additional bonuses and costs a just a few dollars more!

By ordering the Deluxe Edition in physical or digital form, you’ll, of course, get the full, basic version of the game, as well as the ‘A Boon for Adventurers – New Journey Pack’ in-game item pack, which includes:

  • Harpysnare Smoke Beacons – a lure for harpies
  • Heartfelt Pendant – a cute in-game gift
  • Ambivalent Rift Incense – which helps to adjust pawn inclinations
  • Makeshift Gaol Key – which helps to facilitate escape from confinement
  • Art of Metamorphosis – which enables character appearance editing
  • Wakestone – which revives the deceased
  • Explorer’s Camping Kit (tent, bedroll etc.)
  • 1500 Rift Crystals
  • Dragon’s Dogma Music & Sounds Collection

Additionally, pre-ordering the game comes with the ‘Superior Weapons Quartet’ set (as in the Standard Edition) plus the exclusive ‘Ring of Assurance’!

What to Choose?

Wondering which version of the game to choose? Well, regardless of your decision, it’s worth considering purchasing as soon as possible because the pre-order bonuses look so promising!

If you’re only interested in the game itself, you can opt for the Standard Edition and enjoy both the epic adventure and saving a few bucks.

However, if you like when your game comes with various interesting add-ons and elements, and you also enjoy listening to beautiful music created by geniuses like Tadayoshi Makino and Inon Zur, then pick the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition.

Our opinion also leans towards the enriched version. Especially since the price difference isn’t significant, and the additional content you can gain looks genuinely interesting!
