Resident Evil Games
Resident Evil is a horror video game series owned and created by the Japanese company, Capcom. The first game from the series was released back in 1996, and new games were being released on a regular basis since then. The success of the franchise allowed it to grow way beyond the video game industry, resulting in all sorts of different kinds of works based on the original game, including movies, comic books, and television series.
Resident Evil Franchise
Most games in the Resident Evil game series are horror games and their main objective is to make you feel scared and helpless, but some of them tried a slightly different approach which resulted in a more action-oriented experience. This includes Resident Evil 4, 5, and 6 – all of these games were designed with those who don’t like the horror genre in mind. While the fans of the original gameplay formula weren’t too happy about the change of pace, it allowed the development team to attract more people, who’d hopefully return in the future to play newer games. Later Resident Evil releases returned to the original idea and brought back the horror, which once again started to play the leading role in the series.
The Resident Evil series enjoyed a surge in popularity in the last several years, thanks to not only the most recent top-notch entries but also because of remakes of classic games. Players around the world got an opportunity to play old RE games in a way that wasn’t possible ever before. The remakes are not only more suited to modern times but were also made to be more appealing to a new generation of the younger audience. They are not a simple reskin of old games – they are full-fledged, overhauled reworks, that drastically change how the games look and play when compared to their original counterparts.
